MISSION STATEMENT

The University of Kentucky Wood Utilization Center, being a part of the University of Kentucky a land grant institution, has a basic mission of instruction, research, and extension for the state of Kentucky. Specific objectives of the Wood Utilization Center include:

• Provide opportunities to strengthen the skills of the primary and secondary wood industry workforce.
• Create opportunities for expansion in the primary and secondary woodworking industry.
• Seek technologies/processes that would improve resource utilization consistent with multi-use management of the renewable natural resource .
• Improve technology transfer to the primary and secondary forest products industry.
